「＋ = Plus」

＋は、2009年に活動を始めた非営利の共同体です。

わたしたちは、既存の境界を超えて(商業映画とは対照的に)生み出される映画の本質的な芸術性を重要視し、その興隆のために活動しています。

2009年から2015年にかけては、芸術映画に特定の場所が国内に無いことより、単館映画館やライブハウスなどで、日本で上映されることの無かった映画の上映を行いました。またこれに加えて、出版物の発行などを通じて海外の興味深い機関を日本へ紹介すること、来日した映画作家たちの上映の場所を作ることが、わたしたちの活動の中心となりました。

今後、わたしたちは、今日の映画作家としての制作・個別のプロジェクトを主軸としながら、引き続き、わたしたちが何より心を動かされる映画に関わる上映・出版活動をおこないます。
単なる上映団体ではなく、＋は、個々に異なる映画作家・音楽家・芸術家・批評家らによるひとつの運動、それぞれの瞬間に共鳴しあう人々の共同体として、進められて行きます。

‘+ = Plus’

+ is a non-profit organization which started its activity from 2009.
The main aim of + is to vitalize the art of the essential cinema, made regardless of any existing boundaries, in contrast to a blockbusters.

Until 2009 to 2015, since there are no specific place for artistic films in Japan, we had been working for screening films that hardly never seen in Japan, introducing interesting institutions of overseas through screening event at independent theater or live house. In addition, we were writing issues and organizing projects with filmmakers who came to Japan.

Based on each of our personal projects and activities as a filmmaker of today, we will continueously do screening and publishg, working for films that touch our heart and move us.

+ is no longer just a screening project. This is a movement by several different individuals such as filmmakers, musicians, artists and critics. This is a flexible community of those who resonant each other in the moment.
